The first part of the recording includes town footage of Chernivtsi on the way to the an interview with Iosif Kunovich Burg. (see also: Accession # 09-008.01-F MDV 232)

The third part of the tape is a formal interview with Roza Ovsheevna Shternberg. (Part 1 of 4. See MDV 417, MDV 418, and Accession # 09-008.07-F MDV 283)

00:05:58 The team arrives at Burg’s apartment and sets up the formal interview with him.
00:11:37 Burg talks the official celebration with the mayor of Chernivtsi of Burg’s 95th birthday the day before. He then talks about contemporary Jewish life and recalls a phone conversation with another well-known Yiddish writer, Itche Goldberg. The conversation is briefly interrupted by a phone call Burg conducts in German.
